Special Design Awards for Nibbi-built Projects

Zoo

Two Nibbi projects were recently selected for special honor awards by the American Council of Engineering Companies.  Of the Engineering Excellence awards, 6 local were honored, including the Cornerstone Structural Engineering Group for the South American Rain Forest Exhibit at the San Francisco Zoo, and Walter P. Moore Engineers for the new Air Traffic Control Tower at San Francisco International Airport.

For the Zoo, Nibbi was the General Contractor of this complex, live exhibit, which involved rehabilitation and expansion of an existing building.  For the Airport project, Nibbi Concrete provided the structural concrete for this graceful 231-foot landmark, as a subcontractor to Hensel Phelps.  The tower is scheduled to begin operations later this year.
