New homes for veterans to be named after former Mayor Ed Lee

Anyone who had the pleasure of working closely with Mayor Ed Lee knew of his dedication to getting veterans off the street and into homes. So it was a proud moment when we learned that new Mission Bay housing for veterans and low income families would bear Mayor Lee’s name. Acting Mayor Mark Farrell made the announcement at the March 1 groundbreaking ceremony for Block 3 East, a development that will house 62 formerly homeless veterans, and 56 low-income families. Nibbi is working closely with Chinatown Community Development Center, Swords to Plowshares and Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects to complete construction of the new homes by Fall of 2019.
