Cassie Hilaski Joins Nibbi as Safety Director
Cassie Hilaski has joined Nibbi Brothers General Contractors as Director of Environmental Health and Safety. In her new role at Nibbi she will spearhead the research, implementation and refinement of advanced safety policies and procedures in the field.
A Certified Safety Professional, Hilaski has extensive field experience on large construction projects of up to $850 million. President Bob Nibbi lauded her appointment as a key part of the firm’s commitment to attaining best-in-class safety practices. He added that Ms. Hilaski’s appointment is timely, given Nibbi’s expectations of strong increases in construction activity through 2017.
Hilaski’s career focus on environmental health and safety is a natural fit with her life-long affinity for humanitarian work and for helping others, in general. She views her safety role not so much as an additional layer of project oversight, but as an experienced, in-house resource to the Project Managers, Superintendents, and others. “Even though it’s great to be involved in a large, complicated project, at the end of the day, it’s their project,” she pointed out.
Hilaski pointed to Nibbi’s reputation as a leading builder of affordable housing and non-profit developments as part of her decision to join the company. Reflecting on her new role, Ms. Hilaski said, “I’m very excited about the energy, the commitment and the people at Nibbi.”
She added, “I’m looking forward to using the expertise I’ve gained over the years at a large national company, and helping Nibbi towards its goal of having world-class safety practices.”
Previously Cassie spent 20 years at Clark Construction, where she recently served as Area Safety Director.
