Building a New Future in Alice Griffith

On November 2nd, people gathered to celebrate the opening of the life-changing housing development for the residents and families of the Candlestick Point Neighborhood. The Alice Griffith redevelopment is more than just a construction project, it offers residents access to job training programs and afterschool programs to ensure kids have a safe place to study and have fun. HOPE SF, a funding source from the San Francisco Mayor’s Office, is a large contributor to the redevelopment training programs.

Beginning in 2015, Nibbi and Baines Group, Inc. (BGI) began construction on Blocks 1, 2 & 4. Nibbi/BGI worked with McCormack Baron Salazar, Torti Gallas & Partners, AE3 Partners, HKIT, BDE and HOPE SF to build these new homes which local families could feel proud to claim as their own.

The Alice Griffith project is divided into blocks, where Block 1 is five stories with one level of parking and is 183,459 sq. ft. It contains 122 one- two- and three-bedroom apartment units. Block 1 achieved LEED Platinum status.

Alice Griffith Block 2 is 140,500 sq. ft. with 93 units and Block 4 is 139,934 sq. ft. with 91 units, respectively. The blocks contain one- two- and three-bedroom townhouses. Each block includes communal spaces such as courtyards, playgrounds, and barbecue areas.

Mayor London Breed and House Representative Nancy Pelosi spoke at the opening celebration. They applauded HOPE SF for creating homes for San Francisco families in need and for ensuring 90% of families who lived in the old housing were able to move into the new Alice Griffith. Nibbi Brothers is honored to have been selected to rebuild Alice Griffith. Congratulations to all!
