Located at 1045 Mission Street in San Francisco, SOMA Residences provides a strong architectural statement. The elevations of the building are enhanced by a combination of metal, plaster and Hardiplank that are painted with vibrant, bold colors. SOMA Residences upgraded the neighborhood in an impressive way by changing the South of Market landscape.
The 278 apartments, 55 of which are below market-rate, consist of studios and 1-bedroom units. The units offer amenities such as high-speed internet access, expansive windows, vaulted ceilings and an on-site fitness center. The building also contains street-level retail space and 20 live/work lofts fronting Minna Street. The project has two 3-story wood-frame buildings over two levels of concrete podium with underground parking for 251 cars. The project was HUD-financed in which Nibbi provided its extensive HUD experience to the project.
