Project Summary
The new Alameda Boys & Girls Club was constructed on 1.5 acres of land owned by the Alameda Unified School District and leased to the Alameda Boys and Girls Club. As such, this project was required to comply will all Department of State Architecture (DSA) rules and regulations applicable.
This new clubhouse serves up to 3,000 school age children from all over Alameda each year, and is within walking distance of three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. It is easily accessible to local buses from the remaining Alameda schools. The new clubhouse is a 25,000 square-foot steel-frame building and includes a 7,992 square- foot gymnasium, a 1,480 square-foot Teen Center, a games room, computer lab and learning center, an arts and crafts center, community office space, a music room, a dance area, and a Dental and Health Screening Clinic with administrative offices.
