Project Summary
128 King Street is an historic brick warehouse originally built in 1913, located directly across from AT&T Park. Byer Properties selected Nibbi for this complicated renovation project that involved extensive preconstruction/exploratory demolition services prior to the construction of the project. During construction the building interior was gutted and sandblasted to expose the natural beauty of the existing brick walls, wood columns and joist system. As an unreinforced masonry building (UMB), it required substantial rehabilitation and seismic upgrading to meet current code requirements. Nibbi added a fourth floor, re-using the existing timber roof trusses, which preserved the historic look of the building. 128 King Street now has 40,000 square-feet of executive office space and 30,000 square-feet of retail space including two restaurant spaces, a Baseball Exhibit and restaurant banquet rooms at the basement level.
