Building Information Modeling

Nibbi Brothers uses Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to help deliver maximum value to our clients. By using a variety of industry 3-D software programs, BIM helps create fully integrated project environments that have the power to dramatically enhance the design and construction process.  Our use of BIM has proven that technology has a positive impact on schedule, budget and quality due to:

  • Reduced cost and schedule risks since conflicts are found earlier
  • Reduced or eliminated field discrepancies
  • Reduced coordination time among sub-contractors in the field
  • More prefabrication opportunities

Nibbi’s use of BIM within existing and occupied facilities has also proved successful.  Employing new technologies by Innovative Technology Solutions that utilizes laser scanning and 3-D imaging, we create 3-D BIM models and working drawings of existing conditions of a building, which greatly minimizes issues of inaccurate dimensioning and coordination around existing structure or systems.

Nibbi begins the BIM process at the earliest available opportunity, when design changes have the least cost and schedule impacts. The mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems can be coordinated in 3-D during the early phases of design. By building the project in 3-D before we build it in the field, we can save time and money, while enhancing the level of quality.
