Project Summary

Nibbi Brothers is proud to have been a part in taking the vital first step with NDNU in its long-range, 15-year master plan for students in Belmont, which consisted of eventually providing on-campus housing for 600 students. The vision and construction of this dynamic new campus does not only transform the school, but it transforms the community as well.

The initial phase of the master plan included construction of the new Residence Hall, 204-bed hall for undergraduate students and a new surface parking lot. The new campus is configured as four structures.  All 3-story wood-frame buildings are linked on the second and third levels with pedestrian bridges and designed around a paved and landscaped courtyard. Typical student suites in this phase contain 4 beds and one shared bathroom. It also includes third-floor lounge space, office space, Resident Director’s apartment, on-site laundry facilities and a mechanical, electrical, and data room.

Some sustainable building elements included:

  • Bio-Swales to promote infiltration and reduce the flow velocity of storm water runoff
  • FSC Wood
  • Preservation of existing Blue Oak Tree on-site
