Project Summary

The North Beach Place project represents the fifth Hope VI (Housing Opportunities for People Everywhere) site that Nibbi Brothers has constructed for the SFHA. Nibbi Brothers is proud to have taken part in the construction and receives great satisfaction in providing affordable homes for San Francisco Bay Area residents as well as providing job opportunities.

Nibbi constructed the $74 million project in a joint venture with Cahill Contractors, the first time that these two long-time San Francisco firms have joined forces. The structure features 341 units of affordable and senior housing and is three stories of wood-frame over a concrete podium. The mixed-use project is two city blocks and includes below-grade parking with 323 spaces; 20,000 square-feet of commercial/retail space, including 3,000 square-feet of incubator space for resident entrepreneurs and a childcare/community center.

The construction replaces public housing units built in the 1950s. The new apartments, located in San Francisco’s North Beach district, offer residents close proximity to Fisherman’s Wharf and many retail outlets.
