Keith Street Homes

Quality Housing for Low-Income Families in the Bay Area.

Project Summary

Projects like the Keith Street Homes are invaluable ways to provide home ownership solutions at all income levels. Completed in August 2003, the new Keith Street Homes are located in San Francisco’s Hunter’s Point neighborhood. Nibbi Brothers completed eight of the homes and the remaining two were completed by Habitat for Humanity. The development consists of 3 and 4 bedroom homes sold to first-time home buyers. Each home is two stories of wood-frame housing over a single-car garage and is approximately 1,652 square-feet. One home is a handicapped-accessible unit with an elevator.

The site is located within an existing neighborhood and was built on a steep hill with each house spaced only six feet apart. To re-condition the site while protecting the adjacent structures, extensive earthwork was performed. This work included excavation as deep as 20 feet, soil re-compaction and extensive concrete retaining wall work Nibbi Brothers worked diligently with the owners and the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency to meet the necessary goals for the MBE/WBE subcontractor and neighborhood hiring for the project.
