Nibbi awarded new work in Showplace Square, Hunters Point

Nibbi Brothers has been awarded two new projects, Townsend Family Apartments and Hunters View Neighborhood Revitalization.

 

The Townsend Family Apartments at 570 Townsend is a an affordable family housing project; 75 units of one, two and three-bedroom units with ground floor light industrial space.  AF Evans is the developer and David Baker + Partners is the architect.  The building will be a six-story type III construction.  Nibbi is currently working with the owner and design team, providing pre-construction services.  Construction is scheduled to begin in the 2nd quarter of 2009 and be completed in 2010.  The project is being designed and constructed in conformance with the 'green communities; criteria established by Enterprise Community Partners.

 

The Hunters View Neighborhood Revitalization will create a neighborhood of more than 600 units of housing, both market-rate and rental, at all levels of affordability.  Nibbi is a joint-venture partner with Cahill Construction. The project will be located at Middle Point and West Point Streets, currently the Hunters View Projects.  The SFHA awarded the project to the Hunters View Community Partners team which includes The John Stewart Company, Ridgepoint Non-Profit Housing Corporation and Devine & Gong, Inc.  Solomon, E.T.C. is providing master-planning and lead design services.  Plans include a three-phase project with approximately 250 units per phase.  In addition to rebuilding the existing 267-SFHA units there will be construction of additional affordable and market-rate rental and for-sale housing.  The anticipated start date is the 3rd quarter of 2009.
