Nibbi Brothers was awarded the contract to renovate and seismically upgrade this historic Church, originally built in 1900. The seismic upgrade package included new structural steel cores, seismic steel and wood blocking seismic assemblies. The four main shear cores Nibbi built are composed of structural steel and shotcrete. These cores were epoxy dowelled to the existing granite shell of the building. The new walls extended 80 feet up into the church tower.

The interior of the Church was renovated with significant woodwork refurbishment and modifications to the pews, existing interior casework, confessionals and stations of the cross. The North and South Vestibules were re-built to accommodate the new shear walls. Improvements for disabled parishioners included new wheelchair-accessible entrances and seating. The interior finishes were revitalized including cleaning and re-lamping the existing light fixtures to bring them to code. The project was finished in eight months, just in time for Christmas Mass.
