This project consisted of the seismic repair and structural strengthening work of Language Corner which is located in the main outer quad on the campus of Stanford University. This is a unreinforced sandstone building built in the late 1890's consisting of 3 levels. The project is a result of damages to the building from the Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989.

The work included extensive demolition of some interior components and structural shoring to maintain the structural integrity of the building during construction. The structural strengthening included new concrete walls, slabs, footings, shotcrete on the exterior sandstone walls and free standing arcade, structural struts for structural connections, and exterior arcade columns were replaced with pre-cast columns.
