Over two years Nibbi Brothers was involved in the seismic upgrades of four Pacific Gas & Electric substations in the Oakland area. The projects were very challenging for Nibbi due to the fact that the substations were both occupied and in full operation during construction. The working environment was extremely dangerous since the equipment within the buildings was fully energized. The projects consisted of new foundation work, shotcrete shear walls and extensive structural steel bracing. With Nibbi's project team working in conjunction with the PG&E engineers the projects were safely completed on schedule and within budget. |
