Nibbi Brothers provided pre-construction services to the client for this apartment building in downtown Oakland. Located one block from Lake Merritt, Madison Apartments has 79 units of affordable family housing and ground floor commercial space. There are 16 studios, 36 1-bedroom, 21 2-bedroom and 6 3-bedroom apartments. 20 of the units are set aside for youth aging out of foster care with supportive services provided by First Place Fund for Youth, a non-profit that aids youth transitioning out of the foster care system. The building has photovoltaic panels on the roof to power the common areas.

Madison is an eight-story concrete building with ground floor commercial and retail space and 54 parking spaces on the ground floor. A 3-level car stacking system was used to maximize living and commercial space in the building.
