This project consisted of a 16,000 sq. ft. addition and a 29,000 sq. ft. remodel of existing hospital space. The added space consisted of four distinct building wings: 1) rehabilitation recreation, 2) physical and occupational therapy, 3) skilled nursing and 4) administration offices. The remodeled space included the pharmacy, food service, and patient room areas. Nibbi managed the construction of the complete contract from building demolition to sitework through hospital equipment installations. Nibbi performed with its own forces all layout, concrete forming, wood framing, builders' hardware, toilet accessories, and finish carpentry. Asbestos abatement and landscape planting work was coordinated by Nibbi, but performed by others. Nibbi constantly monitored the project construction schedule to mitigate delays to construction and interruptions to ongoing hospital services. Two years prior, Nibbi built the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, a 1,700 sq.ft. state-of-the-art laboratory within the radiology wing of the hospital.
