The UCSF Cardiovascular Research Center will be a 250,000 SF steel framed building, with concrete fill over metal deck. LEED®  credits for MR 4.1 and 4.2 were achieved through implementation of 50% supplementary cementations materials (SCMs) such as slag, a byproduct from the steel manufacturing process, and flyash, a byproduct from coal fired power plants. LEED® credits MR5.1 and 5.2 were also achieved by use of 74% of regional materials (within 500 miles).  UCSF is seeking a LEED®  Gold rating upon completion.
